Nature Village is a self-sustainable community with access to clean water, solar energy, housing, and eco-entrepreneurship for the first time in rural communities.
Through the Nature Village program, we support the development of communities without access to electricity and clean water.
The component includes the construction of Microgrid providing electricity for the first time and clean water, and the generation of sustainable livelihoods.
The Nature Village I was the first sustainable community at Sabana Yegua Viejo, Azua in the Dominican Republic. We provide clean water, solar energy, housing, and livelihood for the first time in the community.
The community selected for the Nature Village II development is Las Lagunas, Elías Piña, on the border with Haiti.
Las lagunas is a very vulnerable community located in Elias Piña Province in the borderline with Haiti, the poorest region in the country.
The community has around 85 families (more than 400 inhabitants) who do not have access to basic services such as electricity, water, housing, and income generation.
